Lisa Fernald Barker is a Northern California artist known for her expressive abstract paintings and dynamic use of color and texture. For more than two decades, she exhibited in juried and solo exhibitions and at venues including the Crocker Art Museum, SLATE Contemporary, and the SFMOMA Artists' Gallery.
Her work has also been represented nationally by Serena & Lily and is held in numerous private and corporate collections throughout the Bay Area and coastal states, reflecting a distinctly Northern California aesthetic appreciated by collectors across the country.
Lisa has a longstanding passion for art education and community engagement, having taught painting workshops, led interactive exhibits, and served as Chair of the Capitol Artists Studio Tour. Her experience creating artist events, exhibitions, and creative programs inspired the vision behind Art Tours by the Sea.
Beyond her work as an artist, Lisa has spent her career bringing people, ideas, and experiences together through marketing, communications, consulting, and event leadership. Today, those skills come together in Art Tours by the Sea, where experienced planning, creative storytelling, and genuine hospitality combine to create memorable, artist-led coastal experiences.
Raised on the Seacoast of New England and now living on California's coast with her husband, Mark, Lisa brings a lifelong appreciation for coastal communities, local history, and the artists who help define them.
